Happy New Year from Our New Road Dental Team
/in Uncategorized /by Michele FulhamLooking forward to the New Year? Looking forward to improving your Oral Health?
Firstly we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and hope you enjoyed the festive season from the Bell Yard/ New Road Dental Team. 2016 was a busy year for us; we have been able to help our patients achieve better oral health and in many cases helped them maintain/create the smile that they are now proud of.
Oral Health is an ongoing process; even well maintained teeth can suffer if we start to neglect them. The New Year always brings a new fitness regime to lose weight or get fit for an occasion that’s been announces. New jobs can be around the corner as well as potential new relationships.
From a dental perspective there a few things you could do, to have Healthy teeth and gums in 2017, it will also help to give you that smile boost you’re looking for!
Sugar! – This is always at the top of the list this time of year! We all know the diet has increased sugar in December. But also remember that sugar has increase obesity and dental decay. Reducing the frequency of sugar intake to the main meals can help prevent decay and benefit your oral health over all.
Flossing! – Yes the word that every dentist/hygienist uses “have you been flossing?” most people see this as an ‘extra thing to do’. Adding flossing/tepe’s/interprox/glides to the daily routine gives a huge boost to your Oral Health. Just think teeth have 5 surfaces! Many people forget the in-between bits, flossing helps to remove food from between the teeth. Flossing also helps to remove the bacteria which contribute to gum disease and halitosis!
Smoking! – The New Year is always a good time to make that decision to stop smoking, a lot of people decide in January to take the steps! There are always support groups as you will never be alone! Did you know smoking contributes to Oral Cancers and gum disease, stopping smoking will help to keep your mouth health! Also it helps the bank balance double bonus!
You’re Smile! – now not everyone has that smile that they are proud of, it could be the discolouration of the teeth, the positioning of the teeth as with age the teeth start moving! There are different ways that the dentist can help you get to where you want to be! There are many cosmetic treatments that the team perform on a daily basis to help you get to where you want to be. From changing fillings to look cosmetically better, to whitening your teeth to give them that glow, maybe even straightening your teeth using invisalign ( the perfect discreet way for you to get the look you want!). There may be that gap in the mouth that you’re not happy about we do Implants too. We at Bell Yard/New Road are here to help you achieve what you want so you can smile with pride!
Look out for our new monthly Blogs on ways to help you Smile from Ear to Ear! Welcome to 2017!

What does Invisalign cost?
/in Invisalign /by Michele FulhamWhen I look back at my 7th through 9th grade pictures, I’m always mortified when I see my metal- wired full grin because I needed to wear traditional braces for two years. When I think of my braces with those awful coloured bands to attract even more attention to my awkward metal mouth- it’s just embarrassing. Sometimes I wish I could have known what Invisalign cost so I have been spared those embarrassing years.
In recent years, Invisalign has become a popular and well-known alternative for braces (though unfortunately for me way after my heavy-metal stint). Invisalign works by using a custom-made set of aligners that are made from a comfortable and smooth plastic- thus making them practically invisible- that you wear over your teeth.
Depending on your personalised treatment plan, you will switch out the aligners roughly every two weeks. They gradually shift your teeth into place so there is no need for metal brackets or wires to tighten (or hurt your mouth!). Honestly, the best part is most people will not even know you’re wearing braces!
If you’re a teen that’s looking for an alternative to metal-wire braces or even an adult who couldn’t fix their smile when they were younger, Invisalign is the way to go!
Now you must be wondering, what does Invisalign cost?
At New Road Dental in Watford, Dr. Paaras Dhanani and Dr. Patel offer great finance options so you can get straight teeth from as low as £ 150 a month! In their special Invisalign treatment package they include the following:
So seriously, spare yourself the embarrassment and uncomfortable feeling in your mouth from wearing traditional braces. Go to New Road Dental and get the smile of your dreams without drawing attention to your mouth in the process!

The Journey to Your Perfect Smile Starts With New Road Dental
/in Uncategorized /by Michele FulhamYou will recently have received an invitation from us to visit our dental practice on New Road in Croxley Green on Thursday 19th February to discuss this amazing cosmetic treatment called Invisalign.
On this evening we will be offering £500 off of your Invisalign treatment (normal price £3950), including whitening and the removable retainers which are included in this amazing offer (worth another £500), saving you £1000!
However, you may have a few questions of your own you would like answered before you decide whether you will be interested in coming along to see us, so here are a couple of the main FAQs answered!
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and achieve the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign shows your complete treatment plan based on what your Invisalign Provider has prescribed for you, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth – and your teeth only – to move them little by little. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position. Your Invisalign treatment time will be determined by your Invisalign Provider, based on your specific needs.
What Are The Benefits of Invisalign?
Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible. No one may even notice that you’re wearing these virtually invisible aligners, making Invisalign a seamless fit with your lifestyle and day-to-day interactions with others.
Invisalign aligners are removable giving you the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment by simply removing the aligners. And you can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would for fresh breath and to maintain good oral hygiene.
Unlike traditional fixed braces, there are no metal brackets or wires. This means that in most cases less time is spent in your Invisalign Provider’s practice for adjustments. And finally, Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you even begin treatment so you can see how your teeth are expected to look when your treatment is complete
If you are still undecided as to whether Invisalign treatment is for you, just have a look at this testimonial from one of our lovely patients who has now completed his Invisalign treatment with us! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTg5QJWF3mw

Back to School
/in Uncategorized /by Michele FulhamAs the end of the school holidays draws near (yay!) you will probably be looking at new uniforms, pens, pencils, pencil cases and lunchboxes etc.
You may also be thinking about what to put in your children’s lunch boxes. Sugary treats and snacks such as cake and chocolate bars and fizzy drinks or fruit juices are often a popular choice. However, these types of treats and snacks, while delicious and appealing to your children, may come at the cost of their pearly whites!
The New Road Dental hygienists have come up with some handy advice on how to keep decay at bay during lunch breaks and at home:
For more information or if you have any queries please don’t hesitate to visit us at New Road, Croxley Green, WD33EN
Or give us a call on 01923 776 270 and one of our friendly Customer Service Advisors will be more than happy to help.

Healthy Mouth Tips
/in Uncategorized /by Michele FulhamWhat do you do in between your regular check ups at the dentist?
We have some top tips for a Healthy Mouth
1) Clean in between your teeth daily either with floss or interdental brushes (ask your hygienist to show you how if you have trouble)
2) Clean every tooth surface for at least 3 seconds each with an electric toothbrush
3) Use a fluoride toothpaste and when you have finished brushing spit out but do not rinse (the fluoride will continue to work on protecting your teeth from decay)
4) Remember, sugar is a treat and should not be consumed frequently.
For any more information, please visit New Road Dental or call 01923776270.
