Veneers
How would you like a straighter, whiter smile in 3 simple steps?
Veneers are a little bit like false nails in the sense that they are bonded to the front of your teeth. However, unlike nails, they are extremely strong and will last as long as you look after them.
In the majority of cases veneers are made from ultra-thin porcelain. And if you choose to have veneers fitted, they will be colour matched to your original teeth so that you can look forward to a natural looking smile.
It’s not just those looking for the ‘Hollywood’ smile that benefit from veneers, but a number of other patients including those with gaps and chipped teeth too.
The great news about fitting veneers is that the process is easier today than ever before. And here at New Road Dental, you can look forward to your new smile in 3 simple steps:
- You will be asked to come and see us so that one of our experienced dentists can thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to ensure you are suitable for treatment. During this appointment you will have impressions of your current teeth taken. You will also be able to discuss the look you wish to achieve, and you will even be shown the final result using our clever computer technology.
- The impressions of your teeth will be sent to one of our expert lab technicians so that they can begin to build your smile. You’ll be glad to know that the wait for your veneers – around 4 weeks – is the worst part of the whole process.
- You will be invited back to our practice so that your new teeth can be fitted. In some cases patients are required to have some of the enamel on their original teeth filed down to make room for their new ones, but this is perfectly normal. Your veneers will then be securely bonded to your teeth using specialist glue which is then gently heated to activate the sealing process.
Please note: Veneers generally last as long as they are cared for properly. They must be cleaned and flossed daily (to prevent decay), examined by a dentist once a year and are prone to staining if you consume the wrong food and drink often.
