Invisalign allows you to straighten your teeth using almost invisible brace technology
When you think of braces, do you think about a mouth full of metal? In the majority of cases those who are recommended braces think that their only option is ‘train tracks’. That’s no longer the case.
Invisalign braces are a revolutionary, almost invisible way of straightening the teeth. They are made from a specialist, transparent plastic and work by applying just the right amount of pressure to each tooth, gently manipulating them to move into their desired position.
If you choose to straighten your teeth using Invisalign, you will be required to attend an initial consultation at our practice. During this appointment we will take a number of moulds of your teeth and show you what your end result will look like. We will then send the impressions we have taken to a lab technician who will create your first brace.
When your first brace is ready, you will be invited back to see us so that we can ensure it fits you correctly. You are then recommended to wear your brace at all times – you may wish to remove it for brushing your teeth and eating – before coming back to see us in 4-6 weeks to receive your next brace.
Each brace you are supplied with will be ever so slightly different, constantly encouraging your teeth to re-align until your end result is achieved. Most patients start to see results within a few weeks, and treatment typically takes between 9 and 18 months.
